American Armed Forces Executes Lethal Strike in Pacific, Resulting in 4 Deaths

As stated by a senior military spokesperson, the American armed forces executed a fatal kinetic engagement on a boat in the eastern Pacific, resulting in the deaths of four people.

“Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by a Designated Terrorist Organization in international waters. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along a known drug smuggling route and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations. A total of four male narco-terrorists were eliminated, and no American forces were harmed.”

Context and Recent Strikes

The statement comes a day after a declaration regarding a blockade of all targeted oil tankers to and from Venezuela. In that announcement on online platforms, the American leader alleged Venezuela of using oil profits to fund narcotics smuggling and criminal activities, pledging to escalate the military presence.

Just on the previous day, the Pentagon stated it had conducted strikes on three boats it accused of trafficking drugs in the Pacific, leading to the deaths of eight people. Beginning on 2 September, over 20 strikes have killed at least 99 individuals, the majority off the coast of Venezuela.

Administration Defends Actions Amidst Scrutiny

The administration has faced growing pressure to make public video of a September 2nd vessel attack. But, officials have refused to do so. The administration has supported its efforts as a success, saying it has prevented drugs from entering US shores and has dismissed concerns that it is exceeding the bounds of lawful warfare.

While the administration has said the campaign is about halting drugs headed to the US, comments from a senior aide seemed to suggest a wider geopolitical aim. In a recently published interview, the senior advisor said the president “wants to keep on blowing boats up until Venezuela's president cries uncle.”

This suggests the military campaign may be part of a push to oust Venezuela's sitting leadership.
