Hulu is Developing a Far Cry TV Series from the Creators of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The latest action-packed instalment that players explored was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and was released during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is known for celebrating violence and insanity with the same enthusiasm, all while weaving gripping, politically driven narratives. Little surprise that the network’s new order for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two creators whose creations have exemplified all of those elements.

About the Series

Inspired by Ubisoft's hit video game property, the short-run anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also mirror the video games' format by featuring a different location and group of personalities in subsequent series.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series via their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed outstanding collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are working together for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and wildly entertaining. We also want to thank our partners at Ubisoft for trusting us with this popular property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also feature in the show, but currently, we do not know what part that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago approved for another season, with FX and Disney finalizing a new long-term contract with the showrunner.

“Having the opportunity with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly generous, trusting us with one of the most famous video-game realms ever created. And throughout this process, my FX family always encourages me with their constant confidence and backing.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology program. Every title is a interpretation of a theme, the same way every series of Fargo is a version on a theme,” explained Hawley. “To develop a big action show that can shift from season to season, while always examining the nature of society through this complex and chaotic perspective, is a ultimate goal. I’m eager to work with Rob and introduce our mutual irreverent, ambitious style to the television.”

A release window for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
