New Jersey's top prosecutor leaves her post after judicial deems ineligible her appointment.

The ex-lawyer for the former president has left her position as the chief federal prosecutor in the state. This decision was prompted by a legal ruling that invalidated her eligibility to occupy the role.

Attorney General's Statement

The head of the Justice Department, the Attorney General, accepted the prosecutor's departure on the start of the week. Bondi stated that the court's "flawed" ruling made it "untenable" for her to effectively run her office.

"But do not mistake following the order as giving up," Habba stated. "This battle will now extend throughout the country."

Judicial Challenge

Habba's exit comes a week after a federal appellate panel determined that she had been unlawfully serving as US attorney. This ruling is likely to affect numerous legal proceedings in New Jersey.

The court said that a temporary posting that bypassed Senate approval violated the federal law governing appointments.

Future Role and Reaction

The Attorney General added that the former prosecutor will continue working within the Department of Justice as a top consultant. They intend to seek further review of the disqualification, in the hope of achieving a reversal.

Writing online, the Attorney General wrote that the court "must not second-guess the executive's selection of lawyers entrusted with performing the primary duty of the administration of criminal prosecution."

Performance in Office

The attorney general commended the prosecutor's work and said that under her leadership, the Newark saw a 20% reduction in offenses. Additionally that the city of Camden had its first summer in 50 years free from homicides.

Legal Career

The 41-year-old attorney, first joined the former president's legal defense in recent years. She went on to represented Trump in his business records case in New York last year, which resulted in his conviction on 34 counts of document fraud.

Before assuming the role of US Attorney, the former president had revealed he was naming her as his White House advisor if re-elected, describing the lawyer as deeply loyal and a relentless legal advocate.
