The President Invites Relatives of Attacked Guard Soldiers to White House

Former President Trump announced on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the White House.

He added that he conversed with her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Tragic Shooting

Soldier Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a attack on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her comrade, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Gatherings across the state have been held in their memory.

White House Offer

The president explained he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both members of the state Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” the president told reporters. “And in the same way with him, recover or not.”

Community Response

Community members assembled over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to remember Sarah.

Both they had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of the president’s government program to aid law enforcement in DC.

Honoring the Soldier

“Sarah was the individual that instructors hoped for. She behaved with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged people around her,” the principal, the head of Beckstrom’s former high school, told the press. “She was sweet, compassionate and always eager to assist people.”

Service plans for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Legal Steps and Government Revisions

Authorities have charged a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with one count of homicide and charges of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy caused the government to pause asylum processing and cease granting entry permits to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, began his service in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the AP.

He remains under medical supervision and is “battling to survive”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey stated on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi stated on the program that she aimed to visit Wolfe’s family.

Impact of Sarah Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County high school in 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a law enforcement officer with honor, per the state guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she certainly had courage,” he told the audience at the service. “Though her life ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
